When people see you, would they describe you as someone that is living a happy, fulfilling life?
I thought about this when I was reading Todd and Diane's stories. I found this couple and their website: www.whiteonricecouple.com. I really enjoy reading about them and I'm glad they're sharing their interests with the world. Maybe because I could relate to their passions and their personalities. Although I'm definitely not much of a gardener, but I love seeing people get excited about their garden. I also love picking fresh fruits and berries off of other people's garden. (with permission)
It's interesting to see over and over how some people get it right, by shifting their lives towards the things that bring them joy and make them feel more passionate about life, their lives become more fulfilled.
Am I living a happy fulfilling life?
I think I'm getting there.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined. ~ Thoreau

Notes from a Sleepy Girl Not Wanting to Go to Bed
On my mind...
1. Where are people going for the 4th of July? I don't have a plan yet, and do I really want to going camping in Moab?

90 plus degrees is too HOT. Nobody wants to see me wearing barely nothing to keep myself from dieing in the extreme heat.
Lets just pack up and head north, Idaho or Wyoming.
2. Getting up and making to work at 6AM is burning me out.
I didn't think it would become this way. The first couple of months, I loved it. I got to work early, was productive and got a lot done, and get to leave before everyone else.
Now I'm very tired in the morning. How does a person go to sleep early enough to get plenty of shut eyes time? Especially for a person that doesn't like to go to sleep. I have too much other fun things I rather do. Sleeping is boring. Is there not a better way to rejuvenate and restore your energy?
4. I didn't sleep well last night. My knees hurted. Ouch.
I think it's from biking 25 miles earlier that evening. Sometimes my knees ache and sometime it's just fine.
Normally it's just fine. There's not much I could do to prevent it from hurting, it happens so spontaneously.
3. I got the travel bug. I have to get out of here.
A friend wanted to go to St. George this weekend and I wanted to too. But how much fun would it be when it's going to be this hot...

4. I'm reading this travel book: The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Place in the World by Eric Weiner. It's a fun book to read, the author is insightful and humorous. I'm going back to it right after I finish this blog.
His chapter about Switzerland starts out, "The first Swiss people I ever met pissed me off like nobody's business. I know what you're thinking. The Swiss? The nice, neutral, army-knife-toting, watch-wearing, chocolate-eating Swiss? Yes, those Swiss."
He goes on to research why the Swiss are happy people, or "content" is more correct. One Dutch gentleman told him, "the Swiss are happy because they go to great lengths not to provoke envy in others. The Swiss know instinctively that envy is the great enemy of happiness, and they will do anything to squash it... Our attitude, is don't shine the spotlight too brightly on yourself or you might get shot."
Where is your "happiest place"?
5. I'm ready to learn new things at work. Weird how I was starting to feel bored at work, and coincidentally my boss communicated the she's looking into giving me new responsibilities.
6. Oh and here to MJ. Thanks for your music.
Picture of me and some friends learning to dance to Thriller. Good times.

Life is full of exciting adventures...
Do you do this too? When you find something you like doing, you enjoy it so much that you can't wait to do it again and again?... I was this way with snowboarding, salsa dancing, hiking, traveling, and now... river rafting! It was a blast! I want to do it again!
Remembering a quote by a former room mate, "I want to do everything now. And continue to discover new things I want to do." He's right. I know that this world is full of exciting adventures ready for us to discover. There's so many things I enjoy doing and places I want to go visit, if only I had the money and the time off work to do it all.
On a similar note, I'll be adding another stamp to my pass sport this fall! I can hardly wait!

(We joined a group on the Green River by Vernal, and the other picture was taken during a scenic drive to Flaming Gorge.)

Dreamin' of a Lovely Adventure in Europe

Training my body to cycle further and longer...
When the time comes for me to go on a biking excursion in Europe...
Maybe a trip to Spain, Italy, or Austria and Czech Republic. Although my heart is yearning for a journey to Spain. I would love to taste the local wine and dance the night away in a Spanish bar. And then ride through Medieval villages and hike the mountains in the countryside. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

"You don't think I can camp??"

I was talking to some colleagues about going to Yellowstone and camping.
Brian looked at me and laughed, "You don't look like the camping type...there's nothing wrong with that."
I had to asked, "You don't think I can camp??"
Brian answered, "You just told me that you went hiking this weekend, and all that water you drank, you needed to find a bathroom up there, but decided to wait until you got home. You can't go camping for three nights and wait until you get home to use the bathroom."
Realization hit me, "Oh. Yeah. I guess I'm not comfortable peeing outside. (Gross! The one thing keeping me from becoming a professional camper)... I should just book a room at a hotel in Jackson Hole."
