Joy in the small things

via quote book

Grateful to have a job I like, but lately it's been go, go, go with little time to relax.

I'm wanting summertime and sunshine... I'm very excited for the days to get longer, and more time to play outside. Who doesn't feel a little refresh about the coming summer season? And who also looks forward to enjoying fresh delicious fruits from the local farmers market?

Cupcakes, Treats, and Present

I like Valentine's Day. I know some people may not like the commercialism of showing someone you love by giving them thoughtful and loving, or not so thoughtful and loving gifts. Or in my case, the ones that you love romantically or not, I'm getting them something for Valentine's anyway. So I bought mini cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries for my siblings, from a local cupcake shop called Mini Cupcakes. (and they shared with me. :))

Then I thought awfully hard about who to get a Valentine for (outside my family), and it was really hard (note the sarcastic tone) but I decided there is someone I appreciate and like. So I went to Target and put together a thoughtful gift for J. I bought a bunch of treats he like; my favorite men scent, Old Spice; an iTune gift card cause he loves his iPod; and something else that I won't disclose cause I'm not giving my readers a reason to tease me. And boy, do I spoil the people I love (or like). J was surprised by what I bought for him. I don't think I've always showed him how much I really appreciate him. He's not like other guys I've gone out with - he's a nice guy, he likes me and wants to date me, I can count on him, and he's been there for me when I needed him. He's a great guy.

I like Valentine's Day. For me, the fun is figuring out what to get people that would be thoughtful and fun. And of course, the treats I get to eat.

I heart Zion

Zion National Park is becoming more and more popular. While we were riding the shuttle bus up to the trails, I saw many tour groups from around the world, and a lot of European visitors. The park had 2.7 million visitors last year.

I got the opportunity to visit last July and October with Jason, and I think it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Really want to make time to go down there again this year.

I'm curious, what is your most beautiful place to visit?
