I like Valentine's Day. I know some people may not like the commercialism of showing someone you love by giving them thoughtful and loving, or not so thoughtful and loving gifts. Or in my case, the ones that you love romantically or not, I'm getting them something for Valentine's anyway. So I bought mini cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries for my siblings, from a local cupcake shop called Mini Cupcakes. (and they shared with me. :))
Then I thought awfully hard about who to get a Valentine for (outside my family), and it was really hard (note the sarcastic tone) but I decided there
is someone I appreciate and like. So I went to Target and put together a thoughtful gift for J. I bought a bunch of treats he like; my favorite men scent, Old Spice; an iTune gift card cause he loves his iPod; and something else that I won't disclose cause I'm not giving my readers a reason to tease me. And boy, do I spoil the people I love (or like). J was surprised by what I bought for him. I don't think I've always showed him how much I really appreciate him. He's not like other guys I've gone out with - he's a nice guy, he likes me and wants to date me, I can count on him, and he's been there for me when I needed him. He's a great guy.
I like Valentine's Day. For me, the fun is figuring out what to get people that would be thoughtful and fun. And of course, the treats I get to eat.
