I enjoy dating. And yet, there are times that I like being single and just doing my own thing. I’m comfortable alone and I like being with people – it has to be a good balance for me. I like feeling rejuvenated by the energy of interacting with people. And there are times, it’s good for my soul to have a little peace and solitude.
I’d like to share some things I’ve learned and thought about through the years of dating and relationships.
1. Fully accept the other person without trying to change them. If you want to change someone, change yourself.
2. You need to be a happy single person before you enter a relationship. Two happy, healthy individuals make one happy, healthy relationship. (And vice versa)

3. Accept that in dating situations, you are putting yourself out there and that you will be hurt or disappointed. Even the one that loves you will disappoint or hurt you at one time. No one is perfect and your partner is human and will make mistakes.
4. Appreciate each other. Learn how your partner likes to be appreciated – is it through kind words, services, intimacy, gifts, or something else? Learn to appreciate each other every day.
5. Get to know each other fully. It takes time to really know someone.
6. Be honest about your expectations of the relationship. (This is not easy for everyone.) We play too many games and send too many confusing messages to the other party - just be honest.
7. Know your worth. Be with someone that will make you a priority in his/her life and love you just as much as you love him/her.
8. If you live a full happy life when you’re single, you’ll attract more great
people into your life than if you’re a bored and lonely single person.
9. Love is not just a feeling. It's also an action. Evaluate how that person treats you and ask if it's love, and how do you treat the other person? What is love, how does it feel and what does it look like?
10. It’s a wonderful feeling when you're dating someone that adds values to your life and make you feel good for just being you. And likewise, be the one that bring added values and happiness to the table as well.
11. Last one, I promise --- I've been in a relationship with someone that let me be me and he supported the things I wanted to do. I've never met a man that adored me and supported me fully. From him, I've learned that it is possible for me to meet someone that cared about me the way he did.
I'd love to hear your advices on dating and relationships!
